James Carson, Ph.D., MBA

James CarsonJames Carson, Ph.D., MBA is currently the President of Genesis Clinical Laboratory, a company owned by Vanguard Health Systems.  Before joining Vanguard Health Systems, Dr. Carson was the Administrative and Associate Medical Director for the Pathology Laboratories and Clinical Assistant Professor in Pathology at one of the top-tier higher educational medical centers in Illinois.  Prior to his recent endeavors, Dr. Carson held several executive level positions in management consulting, national commercial laboratory companies, hospitals and academic medical centers where he was responsible for managing all aspects of several large multifaceted regional laboratory businesses.  He has also developed and managed many new company start-ups, joint ventures, partnerships and management agreements with individual hospitals, multi-hospital systems, commercial laboratories and other health care organizations.

Debbie Gonzalez, BS

Debbie GonzalezDebbie Gonzalez, BS is currently the Executive Director of Business Development, Customer Support, and Information Technology at Genesis Clinical Laboratory. She spent her whole career in the clinical laboratory field managing multiple areas in operations as well as sales and marketing. 

Debbie received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Kennedy Western University and is currently enrolled in an MBA program at University of Phoenix.

Debbie joined Genesis Clinical Laboratory in October 2008 as Director of Business Development after successfully leading teams of sales and operational staff in several commercial and academic laboratory settings. She enjoys working in the community through a variety of organizations promoting laboratory sciences as a career and fundraising for several local health care organizations.

Philip Murray, MTASCP, MBA

Philip MurrayPhilip Murray, MTASCP, MBA is currently the Director of Finance, Human Resoures, Logistics and Compliance at Genesis Clinical Laboratory.  He began his career as a Medical Technologist working in almost all areas of the clinical laboratory.  He moved into finance after receiving his MBA and has spent the last 23 years in this area of the business.  Philip also has a Six Sigma Black Belt.  Philip received his undergraduate degree in Medical Technology from Clemson University and MBA from Mercer University.

 

 

 

Ahmed Kishta, MSHI, CCNA, CCNP

Ahmed KishtaAhmed Kishta, MSHI, CCNA, CCNP is currently the Director of Information Technology at Genesis Clinical Laboratory. He has been driving change in healthcare through informatics for the past decade. Ahmed received a Masters of Science in Health Informatics from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2010. He also holds several Cisco networking certifications including Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).

 

 

 

Michelle Vandenberg

Michelle VandenbergMichelle Vandenberg is currently the Associate Director of Accounting, Compliance, and Public Relations at Genesis Clinical Laboratory. Prior to joining the Genesis Clinical Laboratory, Michelle was the Director of Billing and Manager of Business Applications at a multi-regional medical laboratory in Pennsylvania. She has over 15 years of billing experience in physician and laboratory settings. Michelle is a long-standing member of the Sunquest Information Systems user group, and is the chair of the Special Interest Group for the Sunquest Information Systems Clinical Financial System.
